MICRA Bylaw Changes, Board Positions, & CTR of the Year

Greetings MICRA Members!

We hope this email finds all of you healthy and well. Even though our 2020 Annual Education Meeting had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are three important items we want to bring to your attention:

Proposed Bylaws Change

As discussed at our 2019 Annual Business Meeting, our current bylaws require us to open the floor to nominations for board positions during the business meeting. We want to move forward with holding all nominations and elections as an online process only. The board believes this will make our nomination and election process more streamlined and efficient. Bylaws changes must be approved by the membership and require a 30-day notice prior to vote. The proposed bylaws change can be found here. Please review these proposed changes. You will receive an email to ask for your vote after the 30-day review period.

2020 MICRA Board Call for Nominations

We will still hold our election for open board positions. There are two board positions up for election this year – Recording Secretary and Treasurer. Both are two-year positions. This is your association! Please consider serving on the MICRA board.

CTR of the Year Award

For 2020, the voting for the CTR of the Year award will be opened to the MICRA membership. Please consider nominating a colleague for this award. The link for the info and nomination form can be found here. In an effort to keep the nominations de-identified, please do not give any identifying information in your nomination description.

Please note, the deadline for submission for nominations for a board position and for the CTR of the Year award is September 11, 2020. We hope you will be involved in YOUR association by running for a board position and/or nominating a colleague for the CTR of the Year award.

Sincerely,
Danita Roberts, CTR
