I began my professional career
after graduating with an associate degree in Health Information Technology from
Baker College-Flint. I have been working as a Tumor Registrar at St. Mary’s of
Michigan for almost 5 years. Previous to that I have worked in the Tumor
Registry arena alternating with Medical Record Coding for 19 years. I am a CTR
and RHIT having obtained my CTR certification 4 years ago. My professional
affiliations include NCRA, AHIMA, MICRA and MIHIMA. On a personal level I live
in the City of Montrose, I have a wonderful husband, Kevin, and two terrific
boys’, Alek who is 13 and Matthew who is 9. They definitely keep our lives very
busy. I enjoy attending the boys sporting events, camping trips, family game
nights, cooking and reading. I’m looking forward to serving you all as a new
board member to MICRA.
